Why ps4 downloads are so slow posted on 2017-08-19 in networking , games game downloads on ps4 have a reputation of being very slow, with many people reporting downloads being an order of magnitude faster on steam or xbox.. I just installed ccproxy on one of my machines, and configured the ps4 to use a local proxy. and it totally fixed my download speeds on psn. sony's infrastructure has sucked ass monkeys for a long time, so they probably modified the tcp stack on the ps4, so that they don't have to spend money on network/servers.. Me and all my friends have said it since day 1 ps3 runs way faster than ps4. game invites and messages are so much faster.only thing faster on ps4 is the store ps3 version was so slow..
